Abstract

Technological developments in the world of sports have brought significant
changes in the training methods and skills development of athletes, including in
badminton which requires intensive and structured training to achieve optimal
performance. This study aims to examine the development of a modified
shuttlecock launcher as an alternative technology to support badminton training
that is efficient and affordable for various sports participants. As a sports
technology innovation, the modified shuttlecock launcher is designed to meet the
needs of independent training, improve consistency, and provide a more
measurable and systematic variation of training programs. The research method
uses a research and development approach with a focus on modifying mechanical
and electronic components to create an affordable tool that still performs
adequately for training needs. The results showed that the modified shuttlecock
launcher was able to increase training efficiency in terms of time, energy, and cost
compared to conventional methods or the use of commercial tools, as well as
providing significant benefits in increasing the consistency of strokes and the
accuracy of players technical skills. This study concludes that the development of
modified shuttlecock launching technology is an innovative solution that bridges
the gap in technology accessibility in badminton, providing an efficient and
affordable alternative for athletes, coaches, and sports institutions with limited
resources. The implications of this research provide a basis for the further
development of adaptive and inclusive sports technology, as well as encouraging
an ecosystem of innovation in improving the quality of badminton training in
Indonesia and the world.
