PERAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPAS DI KELAS V SDN 41 SUNGAI RAYA

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning motivation of students in IPAS learning in Grade V at SDN 41 Sungai Raya, as indicated by the lack of student activeness in asking and answering questions, low attention during the learning process, and lack of perseverance in completing assignments. This study aims to describe the role of learning motivation in IPAS learning, including its role in determining learning reinforcement, clarifying learning objectives, and determining students’ learning persistence. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The data sources consisted of teachers and Grade V students at SDN 41 Sungai Raya. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and open questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was established through technique and source triangulation. The results indicate that learning motivation plays an important role in IPAS learning. Learning motivation contributes to learning reinforcement through praise, rewards, and positive feedback that increase students’ enthusiasm for learning. Motivation also helps clarify learning objectives so that students understand the direction and benefits of the learning process. Furthermore, learning motivation contributes to students’ learning persistence, demonstrated through their seriousness, consistency, and effort in completing assignments despite facing difficulties. Thus, learning motivation is an important factor supporting the success of the IPAS learning process in Grade V at SDN 41 Sungai Raya.
