Analisis Deskriptif Puisi Pertemuan karya Sapardi Djoko Damono: Eksplorasi Sentuhan Emosional dalam Keindahan Kata-kata

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the meaning of the poem Pertemuan and conduct an analysis of it. The encounter between a woman and a man in the poem involves their feelings, emotions, and perceptions of the world. The poem depicts a woman crying out to the lands of light, the moon's poles, and the horizon's anvil. These tears are an image of female articulation that is brimming with delicacy and excellence, as though it were a Ferris wheel. However, the man in the poem does not appear to be aware of the woman or to be concerned about the feelings she is going through. The man's steadfast and everlasting presence in this world is symbolized by his steps. In the man's footsteps, the poem also depicts dense forests and bustling ports. This reflects the man's life and experiences during their interactions. The unforgiving and mortal sun in the man's eyes likewise connotes man's strength and restrictions in confronting the world. At last, the sonnet features the presence of raindrops coming from any bearing. These raindrops can be interpreted as a representation of the alterations and unexpected outcomes that result from their meeting. In addition, the poem suggests that the relationship between men and women has both freedom and saturation. To comprehend the meanings of the poem "Meeting," this study employs a text analysis and interpretation approach. It is anticipated that this study's findings will enhance our comprehension of literary expression and provide fresh perspectives on poetry comprehension.
