Abstract

Social anxiety is a common psychological issue among students that affects their participation and academic performance. One important factor in reducing social anxiety is positive group dynamics within the learning process. This study aims to analyze the role of group dynamics in reducing social anxiety through the mechanism of psychological safety among students. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review approach following PRISMA guidelines. Data were collected form multiple scientific databased through identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion processes, resulting in 25 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicated that positive group dynamics, including open communication, social support, and group cohesion, contribute to the development of psychological safety. Psychological safety acts as a mediating factor that enhances students’ willingnes to participate and reduces social anxiety. These findings highlight the impotance og managing group dynamics and creating psychologically safe environments as effective strategies to reduce stundents’ social anxiety an improve the effectiveness of counseling services.
