ANALISIS PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF, SOSIAL, FISIK, DAN EMOSIONAL PADA MASA LANJUT USIA (>65 TAHUN)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development among elderly individuals aged over 65 years. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method using interviews with two elderly participants, a 66-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man. The findings indicate that older adults experience declines in memory and physical condition, including fatigue and visual impairment. However, decision-making ability, wisdom, and emotional control tend to improve due to life experiences. Social interactions generally decrease, while family relationships become closer and more meaningful. Health conditions, family support, and the social environment play important roles in determining the quality of life of older adults. The study concludes that old age is characterized not only by decline but also by greater maturity in dealing with life.
