PENERAPAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN GAME-BASED LEARNING DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA KONKRET UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN NUMERASI SISWA KELAS 1 DI SD NEGERI 1 BILAPORAH YANG BELUM MENGUASAI KEMAMPUAN LITERASI DASAR
Abstract
This research aims to improve the numeracy skills of grade I students of SD Negeri 1 Bilaporah through the application of game-based learning strategies using concrete media in the form of unit and tens cork boards. This research is motivated by the low numeracy ability of students, especially in understanding the concept of unit and tenth place values, as well as the lack of use of interesting learning methods and media. The type of research used is Class Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles, each of which consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subject of the study was grade I students of SD Negeri 1 Bilaporah which amounted to 26 students. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out quantitatively and qualitatively, namely by calculating the percentage of learning completeness and describing the results of observations during the learning process. The results of the study showed an increase in students' numeracy skills in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, students' abilities are still relatively low. After the implementation of the game-based learning strategy in cycle I, there was an increase, although it had not yet reached classical completeness. In cycle II, student learning outcomes have increased significantly and have reached the expected completeness. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of game-based learning strategies using concrete media is effective in improving the numeracy skills of grade I students of SD Negeri 1 Bilaporah, especially in understanding the concept of unit and tenth place values.
