DETERMINASI MINAT BELAJAR TERHADAP MANIFESTASI ANTUSIASME SISWA KELAS III PADA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ASING
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the determination of learning interest on the manifestation of student enthusiasm in English language learning among third-grade students at SD Negeri Cikaret. The research is driven by a behavioral paradox where male students exhibit high cognitive proficiency despite expressing negative interest, while female students show positive interest but struggle with processing speed. This study employed a quantitative-correlational approach with 32 students (19 males and 13 females) as subjects. Data were collected through learning interest questionnaires and enthusiasm manifestation observation sheets, then analyzed using simple linear regression via SPSS. The results showed an R-Square (R2) value of 0.456, meaning that learning interest determines 45.6% of students' enthusiasm manifestation. The findings reveal gender-based differences: male students exhibit "competitive-speed enthusiasm" that ignores accuracy, while female students show "process-based enthusiasm" hindered by cognitive anxiety. The study concludes that interest is a primary predictor of engagement, necessitating adaptive Cooperative Learning strategies to address gender dynamics in primary education.
