UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATERI KUBUS DAN BALOK MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN TEAM ASSISTED INDIVIDUALIZATION
Abstract
This study aims to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes on cube and cuboid topics through Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning in the fifth grade of elementary school. The problems underlying this study were the low students’ learning outcomes and the lack of student activeness in the mathematics learning process. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 24 fifth-grade students of SDN Gambut 3. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and learning achievement tests. The results showed that teacher activity increased from 75% in Cycle I to 90% in Cycle II, while student activity improved from 68% to 88%. Students’ learning outcomes also improved, as indicated by the increase in classical learning mastery from 62% in the pre-cycle to 75% in Cycle I and reaching 92% in Cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes on cube and cuboid topics for fifth-grade elementary school students.
