DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI PEDAGOGIK GURU DI SMPN 3 CIPATAT

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of teachers' pedagogical competence
as a key pillar of educational quality, which is often hampered by the implementation
of supervision that is merely an administrative formality. This study aims to explore
and analyze the supervision management of the principal at SMPN 3 Cipatat in
improving teachers' pedagogical competence, which includes aspects of planning,
organizing, implementing, evaluating, and following up. The research method used
was a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through
in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The main
instrument of the study was the researcher himself, with data analysis techniques
from Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which included data reduction, data
presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source
and technique triangulation. The results showed that supervision management at
SMPN 3 Cipatat had been implemented as a systematic and continuous managerial
process. Planning was carried out collaboratively by developing annual programs
based on teachers' needs. Organization involved the vice principal and senior
teachers to create a friendly professional atmosphere. Implementation follows a
clinical supervision cycle consisting of pre-observation, classroom observation, and
post-observation stages through reflective discussion. Evaluation and follow-up are
carried out in the form of individual coaching and internal training. The research
findings show an increase in the variety of learning methods, improvements in
instructional tools, and the growth of a culture of reflection among teachers. The
conclusion of this study confirms that professionally and humanistically managed
supervision is effective in improving teachers' pedagogical competence and creating
a conducive academic climate.
