PRINSIP KERJA SAMA GRICE DALAM TUTURAN PENJUAL ALAT RUMAH TANGGA DAN PEMBELI DI PASAR SINDANGKASIH

Abstract

Interaction is a fundamental part of life, one of which is widely used when buying and selling transactions. Sindangkasih market is interesting to be an arena to study the dynamics in this communication. This study aims to analyze Grice's principle of cooperation in the speech between sellers and buyers in the market. Grice's principle of cooperation consists of four maxims, namely, maxims of quantity, quality, relevance and manner, which function to ensure communication runs effectively and coherently. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques using listening and note-taking techniques so that conversations between sellers and buyers are analyzed in depth. The results showed that in the conversation all maxims in Grice's cooperative principle were obeyed by all participants. The seller provided accurate and relevant information in accordance with the expectations of the buyer. No violations of the maxims of Grice's cooperative principle were found, thus showing that the communication between sellers and buyers in Sindangkasih Market runs effectively and efficiently
